Zucchini Flower Tempura


6 Zucchini Flowers

1cup flour

1tbsp cornstarch

1 1/2cup seltzer water


Oil for frying


Mix all the ingredients except the zucchini flowers and the oil

Refrigerate the batter for at least an hour.

Heat oil for frying

Dip each zucchini flowers (stamens removed) in the tempura batter and dip fry in hot oil or fry on both sides.  Do not overcrown in pan

Serve hot with tomato sauce.
