Lemon Balm Bread

Lemon Balm Bread


  • 1 stick butter
  • ¼ cup chopped lemon balm leaves
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Grated zest of one lemon


Cream butter with leaves.  Add sugar and eggs, beat well   Blend in remaining ingredients.  Pour into greased loaf pan.   Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.  Glaze the loaf.

Glaze Recipe

Juice of one lemon, ½ cup sugar, ½ tsp. hot water, ¼ cup chopped lemon balm leaves.  Add more water if needed.
