Fresh Melon-Berry-Mint Punch

4 C shopped seedless watermelon

1 C strawberries, hulled

2/3 C sugar

1/2 C mint leaves, lightly packed (about 4 sprigs)

2 C white grape juice

1/2 C fresh lime juice (about 5-6)

1 t lime zest (peeled from 2 limes)

4 C Sierra Mist (or other non-cola, lime drink)

- Place cut-up watermelon and strawberries in blender or food processor. Strain the puree through mesh sieve to separate juice from pulp and seeds.

- In sturdy glass bowl, stir sugar and mint leaves. With a wooden spoon, pound mint and sugar in bowl, crushing mint leaves to release the oil and flavor the sugar.

- Pour mint/sugar mix into blender or food processor and add white grape juice, lime juice, and lime zest. Pulse several times, chopping mint into bits. Strain through mesh sieve to separate juice from leaves and add to melon-berry juice.

- Pour Sierra Mist into juice mix and stir thoroughly. Chill. Be sure to stir before serving.

NOTES:

- Soda optional for those who don't care for the "fizzy".

- Instead of using ice to chill punch, strain additional melon juice and freeze in ice cube trays. This way your punch won't get watered down.

- For a little adult fun...add a bit of lime flavored rum or vodka - YUM!
