Cowboy Candy

1 ¼ C. sliced jalapenos
½ C. sugar
¼ C. water
1 drop green food coloring, optional


  • Place peppers, water and sugar in a small saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat until boiling.
  • Reduce temperature to low, and simmer 15 – 20 minutes, until liquid has reduced and is syrupy.
  • Let cool and add food coloring, if desired.
  • Place in a jelly jar and store in the refrigerator.
