Cottage Cheese Dill Bread

· 2 1/2 tsp yeast

· 1 tsp sugar

· 2 Tbs water

· 1 C cottage cheese

· 1 egg

· 2-3 Tbs dill weed, chopped

· 1/2 tsp baking powder

· 1/2 tsp salt

· 2 1/4 C flour

· 2 Tbs chopped onion

1. Dissolve yeast and 2 tsp sugar in warm water; let stand 5 minutes. Combine cottage cheese and next 6 ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

2. Turn dough out onto well floured surface and knead 8-10  minutes or until smooth and elastic (dough will be sticky). Place in a well greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place 1 hour or until doubled.

3. Punch down dough and shape into a loaf. Place in a well greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2  x 3 inch loaf pan. Cover and let rise in warm place for 45 minutes or until doubled.

4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes or until loaves sound hollow .

5. Remove loaves from pans.; brush with butter. Cool completely on wire racks.
